A coastal foundation refers to the underlying support system for structures located in coastal areas. These foundations must withstand unique environmental challenges such as high winds, storm surges, wave action, and erosion. While many coastal foundations are engineered structures designed to support buildings and infrastructure in coastal areas, natural coastal foundations also exist.
