Description

The -20m Line represents a simplified version of the 20-meter depth contour line relative to NAP (Normaal Amsterdams Peil). This contour line marks areas where the depth is consistently 20 meters below NAP, providing important information for understanding underwater topography.

In the designated reservation areas for sand extraction, which are located west of the 20-meter depth contour line, sand mining activities are permitted. These areas have been specifically identified to manage and regulate sand extraction, ensuring that it is conducted in controlled locations to minimize environmental impact and optimize resource use.

Description

The “doorgaande-20m_nap” layer represents a simplified version of the physical NAP (Normaal Amsterdams Peil) -20 meter depth contour line. This contour line indicates areas where the depth is consistently 20 meters below NAP. The physical NAP -20 meter depth line can be quite irregular due to the influence of sand transport caused by currents and waves.
