Here you can put a description of the layer
Distance to Coast measures the proximity of a given point or area to the nearest coastline. It plays a crucial role in marine spatial planning (MSP) by influencing environmental conditions, economic activities, and regulatory decisions. Methodology

  1. Create a grid with the desired resolution for the final raster
  2. Create a layer with points over the coastline (points along geometry) | Reference coastline 1990 from Rijkswaterstaat
  3. Use the distance to nearest hub with the grid being the origin and the point along geometry being the hubs layer
  4. Clip the result from step 3 to the desired extent
  5. Rasterize the result using the distance field
