Description

A shallow extraction zone is designed to protect the coastal foundation by preventing deep extractions. This restriction ensures that extraction activities do not compromise the stability and integrity of coastal areas, preserving the natural environment and preventing erosion or other geological impacts

MSP Challenge

In the MSP Challenge, this layer is not editable but provides valuable information to players. It offers insights into the current identified extraction zones, helping players understand the constraints and plan their activities accordingly.

Original Title

Combination of both doorgaande-20m_nap_2km and doorgaande-20m_nap.

Description

The “doorgaande-20m_nap” layer represents a simplified version of the physical NAP -20 meter depth line, which can vary due to sand transport by currents and waves. The “doorgaande-20m_nap_2km” layer likely extends this depth line to a 2-kilometer buffer, providing a broader context for sand extraction.

Methodology

The two lines (doorgaande-20m_nap and doorgaande-20m_nap_2km) were joined using the ‘Join Multiple Lines’ Plugin. The resulting line was then transformed into a single polygon.
