Description:

A recreation area or recreational area is an area where you can relax in the open air. Often accompanied by a body of water. A recreational area always contains a number of man-made facilities, which can vary from simple lawns to larger-scale facilities.

Visitation of recreational areas is usually encouraged by signposting, the construction of parking spaces, and opportunities to develop activities such as a jogging track, a rowing course, or a golf course.

A recreational area can coincide with a nature reserve, but is then arranged in such a way that one can also develop all sorts of activities such as picnics, football, day camping . Often there is a network of walking and cycling paths and information panels are present.
