In the Eastern Mediterranean Sea there are several (national) fleets of trawlers. These fleets are all hindered of fishing in specific areas where other activities or infrastructures are in place. Additionally, policies banning fleets per type of gear and country of origin may be applied in Marine Protected Areas and respective buffer zones.
